“I contemplated for a long time about how I should start this letter.
I wanted to write a letter earlier, but I was so busy getting treatments and focusing on recovering that 7 months just flew by. Honestly speaking, my heart also raced from fear whenever I saw my name ranking high on the search engines. I think that’s why it took longer to write this letter. But I wanted to write something before this year passed.
+++I think I should start off by explaining what’s on everyone’s mind: my current status. This past May, I was diagnosed nasopharyngeal cancer, something I’ve never even heard of before in my life. Thanks to the director, my senior and junior co-stars, and the staff of my pre-confirmed movie, I was able to rearrange my schedule and begin treatment.
Thanks to your support and prayers, I was able to successfully complete three chemotherapy treatments and 35 radiotherapy treatments. In between these treatments, I read all the support messages on my fan cafe and social media and gained strength. I sincerely thank you.
I’m currently recovering well with periodic follow-up scans. I go out for strolls once in a while and I eat regularly, so I can feel my body becoming healthier little by little. But I think it will still take some time before I can greet you all once again. I used to always write in my fan cafe page that health was most important and to always take care of yourself, but now that I’ve shown you my weak self, I feel embarrassed. I’ll learn from this experience and only show you a healthier and brighter side to myself.
I pray that a miraculous blessing will happen to all who are suffering now and those who have suffered this year. I hope that 2018 will be filled with happiness and health.
I’ll return one day to greet everyone, healthily, as if nothing had happened. I thank you and thank you again.
